I really enjoyed Star Wars: Rogue One, and I think it's because franchise movies, whether it's James Bond or Superman, or Star Wars, have a brand to them. They are modern day myths. And when the creators get out of their own way and allow themselves to reinvent the key structural elements in interesting ways, magic happens.
